I attended my GP with pain behind my ear. She prescribed antibiotics but told me to return if it got worse. It did and I attended Vale of Leven, who diagnosed an I met ear problem and sent me to the Queen Elizabeth ENT. The consultant could not find any problems and was I found them to be quite condescending in their approach. They discharged me with further antibiotics.
The problem got worse and I attended a neurologist after visiting the GP. Subsequently he diagnosed neuralgia after bloods and MRI. This was after more than 6 months in pain.
I consider the the actions of the ENT doctor were woefully inadequate. They should have been able to diagnose or at least refer me to neurology before discharge. I find this appalling given the pain I was under.
