"Poor experience at specialist treatment centre"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Endometriosis Service

(as the patient),

I had an appointment at the specialist treatment centre for endometriosis at the Queen Elizabeth after a battle getting my GP to refer me.

I tried to explain how awful my bladder felt after the endo was excised from it during surgery and the doctor's response was that it was only a small amount on my bladder. My response was that even the tiniest amount can be awful, which they agreed with. Unsure why they felt the need to gaslight me, but unfortunately this just seems to be the mentality when it comes to women's health.

The nurse advised they would send out information in the post. This never happened. It was meant to be posted to me and nothing ever arrived.

Sadly, calling it a specialist treatment centre is a bit of a joke, in my view. No facility for help with your mental health, and after years of dealing with the NHS in relation to endometriosis, they just don't take it seriously.

I feel that until mentalities change, women's health services will always be poor, and I believe it will take a long time to change.

Hi Nikki,

I don't really want to contact you. After the 10 years of hell I've had with the NHS it's very clear that they can't do women's health. Attitudes stink and I honestly think it will be about 50 years before this changes/improves.

Calling it a specialist treatment centre is just laughable and is only a small part of the years of hell I've endured, being gaslighted, patronised, pushed from pillar to post, not given a correct diagnosis, being told there's nothing wrong with me and of course absolutely no help with my mental health or the PTSD I now suffer.

I don't believe that contacting you would change anything so I won't be wasting my time with that.
