I experienced an acute attack of pancreatitis at home and was taken to my local A&E by ambulance.
My story relates to my time in Ward 5A at the Ulster Hospital.
Once admitted to the surgery ward I spent 15 days recovering from acute inflammation of the pancreas caused by gall stones. This was confirmed by both MRI and CT scans.
The nursing care I received can only be described as excellent. The staff were very understanding, supportive and caring. I could not fault them in any way.
As a people watcher and retired leader of a multi-discipline team, I observed a very well organised and professional team. Everyone worked well together and exhibited a happy working environment.
If I was asked to score my satisfaction on my time on the ward, it would 10 out of 10.
I cannot thank the hospital staff enough for their help and support during what I have found to be a difficult time.
The HSC in N Ireland regularly receives negative press. In my case I wish to praise them on what is a difficult job under ever demands and expectations.
"A very well organised and professional team"
