"Very frustrating system"

About: General practices in Forth Valley

(as a service user),

My son has been poorly all weekend so come 8.30 on Monday I call the GP for an appointment. Over the course of 20 minutes I make multiple calls only to finally get through and be told there are no appointments left. No questions asked around the reason for the call but instead why not try the pharmacy. Very frustrating system.

Thank you for sharing with us your experience and I am sorry you had difficulty in obtaining an appointment with your GP Practice. I know it must be very frustrating and disappointing for you particularly, when you are looking for advice and support regarding your son, and I do hope that he is now feeling a bit better.
