"The advanced nurse practitioner in ED is a star"

About: Altnagelvin Area Hospital / Emergency department Northern Ireland Ambulance Service / Emergency ambulance response

(as a service user),

I suffered an arm fracture and knee dislocation. Fantastic service from NIAS, really sorry I didn’t get the two fellas names but made me really comfortable after a fall and taking me to A&E.

The star of the show was Leona the ANP in A&E, seen me through from start to finish, making sure I was comfortable and explaining everything really well. She is a credit to the trust and indeed the NHS.

Nice and quick visit and treated the very best. Thank you all so much.

Good afternoon, Lionfz99

I would like to begin by thanking you for taking the time to share your experience of the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service. It was reassuring to learn about the fantastic service provided by the crew. Feedback such as this lifts the morale of the whole organisation in what is a challenging period. I wish you a speedy recovery.

Best wishes

Neil

Dear lionfz99,

My name is Karima and I am one of the Senior Sisters in the Emergency Dep, Altnagelvin Hospital. Whilst I am very sorry to hear of your accident which resulted in both a fracture and a dislocation, I am pleased to hear that you had such a positive experience in the department whilst being cared for by our Nurse Practitioner Leona.

A&E can be a very difficult place to work in given the pressures, but I think we have a fantastic team of people working here, such as Leona. I agree that she is a credit to the trust and an amazing asset to our team.

I will be sure to pass your story on to her.

I hope you are recovering well at home and I would like to thank you for taking your time to tell us about your experience.

Kind Regards,

Karima
