"Great Care at Breast Clinic"

After an 8 week wait, I was glad to attend my appointment at this visibly busy clinic. I’d been advised from the outset, by my GP it was unlikely to be anything serious but it was reassuring to get the thorough one-stop-shop style examinations. 

I requested to have my initial examination carried out by a doctor rather than a nurse practitioner. Not having a medical background, naturally, I don’t understand roles & ranks. For example, I don’t know what a nurse practitioner is etc. Recently, I’d had chaotic experience with registrars in a different department so I was somewhat anxious & it was kind of the staff to accommodate me. 

The consultant Mr Hoo was outstandingly pleasant & has excellent interpersonal skills.  

I was delighted to have Ellie, a student nurse with me for the hours I was there. She was very empathetic and told me she understood why some patients might not want a student observing, and that she may not like it herself. However I thanked her at the end for accompanying me as I was glad of the company & support she provided me with.
