Currently in crosshouse 2b with a terrible leg fracture, knee dislocation, and snapped/torn tendon of the knee! I have been under the care of Sam (on the night shift) and Laura (dayshift agency) the care i recived from both of thier care teams has been exceptionally good! I have not felt more at ease in a hospital than I have under the care of these 2 ladies and thier care teams! There was an exceptional attention to detail in the work they carried out with me and the others in my room 223 with 7 of us in there. My nurses knew what I wanted and when I wanted like a second sense. Easy to approach and dealt with any problems on the spot or in a very short period of time! I continue to wait for a transfer to the Queen Elizabeth for further surgery.
I came to hospital by emergency ambulance in early February, I don't remember much of this with the amount pain meds I had taken but believe I arrived in 2b on Sunday night. I was attended to well on Sunday night I just can't remember much until Monday afternoon which is when I remember meeting Laura. Who delt with me efficiantly and knew exactly what to do with me! She is a credit to the job and deserves some recognition! Monday Night and Sam was on with her team, with talking to Sam I knew there had been and efficient handover done and the hardest part was remembering all thier names and again like Laura Sam delivered an exceptional high service of care towards me and the others in my room. No matter what challenges we're laid before both teams they managed in a timely and professional manner. I decided to put this forward to show my appreciation to the girls and thier teams. My consultants and doctors were brilliant too but I didn't require to see them as much as the nursing teams! I have been told by everyone here that the team that will receive me in Glasgow are a fantastic team too so even though I'm going for a complicated surgery on my leg and have a fear of operations I look forward to meeting them too! Sam also deserves some recognition as she is also a credit to the job!A shout to my physio team too Jodi and Estiban were also very kind and understanding and knew how to get me up on my foot to get into my chair to sit with as little pain as possible. It was still painful due to the damage in my leg but I'm asking to get into my seat now, as I felt the benefit of this and everyone was only happy to help me with this!Outstanding work guys in a very hard job! Especially when I know I can be a hard patient to deal with when in major pain!
I am sorry I can't remember all the teams names but I can assure you they were all brilliant professional and do actually care, which for me, was very clear in how they carried out thier work and duties!
"Exceptional profesional care team!"
