"Praise for staff"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Speech & Language Therapy

(as a relative),

I have absolutely praise for the speech and language team at The Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Govan ,Glasgow.

Our Dad unfortunately now has permanent brain damage after and accident and can really struggle with appointments and x rays etc.  outstanding team they all are.  Making Dad at ease and taking their time with him through the procedure.  Catherine and Cairsty explained everything to me in detail on their results of my Dad swallow x ray.  We now had a forward plan and they will follow up on my Dad to make sure the new changes are implemented during his hospital stay.  I can honestly say this team have complete unity and outstanding approach to their positions and their responsibilities in the care for patients.  They should all be highly commended in what they do.  I don’t think I’ve ever seen a department work together like this.  Always so so helpful and have a great empathy and genuine care for patients and their relatives.  It’s such a real pity other departments can’t operate like this.   Forever grateful to you all.  Many thanks.

Dear Carltonboy

Thank you so much for taking the time to give us such kind feedback.

I am very sorry that your dad has been left with these difficulties following his accident. As a GGC Speech & Language Therapy team we always try to work closely with our patients and their families, putting them at the centre of all that we do, but it really means a lot to our staff to know that their care has been of help and so appreciated.

I will highlight your comments to Catherine and Cairsty at the QUEH and with them, wish your dad all the best going forward.

Hi Carltonboy😊

First of all I would like to say how sorry I am to read of your Dad's condition and the subsequent challenges with appointments which can be stressful. I am so pleased that you took the time out to feedback about your experience with the Speech and Language therapy service( SLT ) at QEUH. The therapists within SLT work really hard to provide the best care possible and I'm so glad that you found this to be case at QEUH. Such feedback will brighten their day and I'm sure Cairsty and Catherine will be delighted. It's great to see that you have a plan moving forward and I wish your Dad all the best in achieving his future goals.

Best Wishes
