"Looked after very well"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Accident & Emergency Royal Alexandra Hospital / Acute Medical Unit (Ward 2)

(as a service user),

After an unexplained fall at home my mum had to attend A&E at the RAH in Paisley.  This was her first time attending A&E at the grand old age of over 80.

As a family we just want to thank all of the staff for their professionalism, care and transparent communication during the course of her journey through an emergency admission.  My sister was there for the first part so unfortunately I can't name the staff who helped initially.  I took over for the evening shift so would like to thank Dr Thomas and nurses Liam and Siobhan for looking after mum so well.

From A&E she proceeded to AMU where nurse Gemma settled her in and where mum tells us she was looked after very well until her discharge the next day.

I understand how pressured the NHS is, particularly acute services and despite this we experienced a very good service.  Thank you all.

Afternoon Nervous Nelly,

I'd like to first of all thank you for taking the time to post this wonderful feedback about the experience your mum had in our A&E and AMU.

I'm really glad your mum was so well looked after by our wonderful teams and I will be sure to pass on your lovely feedback to them all.

You are absolutely right about the pressure on our NHS right now which makes it particularly pleasing to read your feedback, especially as this must have been quite daunting for your mum and your family.

Sending very best wishes to your mum!

Yvonne McDowall
