"NHS 24,ward 49 Queen Elizabeth University Hospital"

About: NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service) Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Gynaecology (Ward 49)

(as a service user),

I phoned NHS 24 on Thursday morning as after 2 days of unexplained stomach pain getting worse I needed to get advice on what to do next. The call handler and nurse were superb at getting the details and I was initially referred to the out of hours service. I was phoned to say to head to A and E QEUH. I was seen very quickly and triaged and had a CT scan. I was admitted to ward 49 and stayed there 2 nights. All the staff in ward 49 are a credit to the NHS and I could not praise them highly enough. The kindness. The problem solving. The efficiency.  Just wonderful. Although I may have surgery to come I am just so grateful that at every stage on the journey I was treated seriously as I knew there was something badly wrong that needed dealt with urgently.  Thank you all

Dear Lwhgiffnock

Thank you so much for spending the time to offer feedback on the Ward 49 team.

They will be delighted that you found them kind and efficient - as well as showing good problem solving techniques. That you felt the team treated your condition seriously and with urgency is also good to hear under the circumstances you were admitted.

I will pass this feedback on to the team.

I wish you well in the future, especially as you may require surgery.

Kind regards,

Nikki Harvey

Interim Lead Nurse Gynaecology/ACS.
