I was transported to Craigavon Area Hospital just after Christmas, following an acute exacerbation of COPD.
The St John’s ambulance staff who transported me were very professional and managed to keep me safe and calm.
Within ED the staff were excellent and despite being busy and me being isolated due to influenza A, the staff were attentive, kind and caring. I was then admitted for just under a week to AMU - where the staff were fantastic, this included the nursing, medical, AHP and all the support services staff.
From observation, all patients within the four bedded area I was in, were treated with dignity, respect and kindness. There was one nurse Siobhan, who was exceptional and went above and beyond.
I would like to thank all the staff who looked after me so well, in spite of the huge pressures they faced.
"The staff were attentive, kind and caring"
