About: Cambridgeshire Recovery Service

(as a service user),

I remember arriving, cautious and judgemental of what to expect. Within minutes, I felt accepted and made to feel, so very welcome. I had just completed 3 months in rehab and was at a loss, as to what to do with myself? Feeling very misplaced in society. It was a time that I needed to meet like minded friends.... people that actually got me! No expectations nor judgements. Just friendly warm chats with professionals and fellow sufferers who I now call my friends. I will never be an artist but who cares! Just to dabble, chat and laugh over a cup of tea and a sau-sage sandwich was all I needed. I now attend full time work so can only attend occasionally. I will miss my Tuesday " home coming immensely. Thank you Emma, Becky, Pete, lou and everyone one of you, that regularly attended. Always in my heart.

Hi Robinre77

Firstly let me explain to other readers about CRS. This part of our service is designed to be supportive and service user led. Service users make the decisions about how and what is in offer.

It really is great that you connected following Rehab. That as you have found out is a particularly vulnerable time for people. What will it be like? Will it be different? Everything seems to change.

Recovery is about building relationships with different people and gaining support along the way. Hopefully in our small way we are able to help with this.

Keep coming along

Paul
