"Having my first baby"

About: Children's Specialist Health Services / Family Nurse Partnership

(as the patient),

I fell pregnant with my first baby and got given a family nurse, Stacey. I really struggled with my mental health during my pregnancy and she put the referral in for me for the mental health team, with my GP and went over all the things about pregnancy and birth that I was worried or anxious about. I ended up having a very traumatic birth and continued to struggle more with me mental health but have been given such great support. I’ve been taught lots about babies/pregnancy that I didn’t know before and have been constantly given support.

Thank you so much waterkd98, for your lovely post about Stacey and working with Family Nurse Partnership.

I am so sorry to hear that you have had such a difficult time during your pregnancy and also at delivery, and hope you are now starting to progress well physically as well as emotionally.

I am pleased you feel you have all the appropriate supports in place at this time with Family Nurse Partnership, your GP and the Mental Health Team.

As you know, Stacey will continue to visit you until your wee one is 2 years old, and I hope you continue to find the programme supportive, informative and enjoy the programme materials whilst continuing to work with Stacey.

I want to wish you and your wee one every happiness for your future together.
