"They made me feel at ease throughout"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

(as the patient),

I fell down the stairs a few days ago and I have broken my jaw in 2 places.

I had to attend Aberdeen royal infirmary. After quite a lengthy wait which was not a problem I have been taken care of by some of the most fantastic humans on the planet.

I would like to pass my personal thanks on to the Surgeon Mr Low, who explained everything very well before the surgery and despite the swelling at the moment I am in the process of healing and hopefully it goes all to plan.

My nurses have been second to none, great sense of humour, professional, very personable and made me feel at ease throughout what is meant to be an horrific experience as I am not the biggest fan of hospitals.

My Doctor was also exceptionally at her job. The list of people who have made this experience is long so I will do my best to mention you all.

Starting with Mr low my surgeon was a legend, funny and to the point, a very nice gentleman with what I can see is a wealth of experience in his role and it truly shows, then on to the most important people in the hospitals the nurses, Abi (you are a star! Thanks for letting me borrow your charger you made me feel happy and put a smile on my face despite me being in PAIN and you not getting to see me on one of my better days in)

Mark (thanks for all the banter and honesty, you are a remarkable gentleman and thank you for making me feel at ease through the recovery, you also make a cracking cup of tea!)

Lucy thanks for everything you did for me, I'd love to go into depth but I've still got a lot of people to mention.

Manju (you have been very good with me too, I can see you never take your eye off the ball and are busy buzzing around making everyone feel great.

Caitlyn you are an absolute sensation, your never wavering smile, positive attitude and lovely disposition were an absolute inspiration.

My Doctors were also very helpful and professional (the gentleman who spoke with me upon admission had a difficult patient he was dealing with whilst taking care of me at the same time. His professionalism shone through and he didn't let any frustration show when he was treating me.

My other Doctor Dixon working the night shift again an exceptionally gifted doctor her demeanor and personality made me feel very at ease in an otherwise difficult time. The pain medication was starting to wear off by this time and she handled my snippyness with such grace and elegance she truly is a wonderful human. I never felt a thing when you were giving me the injections! Magnificent person.

If I have forgotten anyone I am sorry but please accept my most sincere appreciation for all you have done for me. These people are truly a credit to the NHS and I hope that they continue their respective roles for many years to come and make other patients fell as good as I have.

Lots of love and appreciation,

If any of you need a new bed come and see me and I'll take care of you the way you have taken care of me. 😊
