"Anxiety and its effect on my lifestyle"

About: Inclusion Thurrock (Talking Therapies)

(as the patient),

I cannot remember a time when I haven’t worried or felt anxious about something. I retired and then Covid struck and since that time I feel my anxiety, it’s cause and the effect it has on my lifestyle has become all consuming.

I was able to reach out for help initially through my doctor and this led to me being referred to Inclusion Thurrock. I was assessed and attended a course of therapy with Claire at Corringham Medical Centre. I found this to be extremely useful and I have been able to talk openly and honestly about my worries and concerns and have received lots of support and useful and practical advice to help me manage my anxiety.

It has been a long process to identify and find practical ways to manage my anxiety and we both feel there is more to do.

It was recommended that I reapply for more sessions with Claire so we can focus in depth on specific elements of my anxiety that were identified during previous sessions.

Hi Bludog3,

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback regarding your time at Inclusion Thurrock, we really appreciate it.

It is great you took those first steps to reach out for support by contacting your GP and that they referred yourself to our service.

It is really good to know that you were able to talk openly and honestly with Claire throughout your therapy, this is so important in a therapeutic relationship. Also knowing that you received a lot of support, practical advice and tools to help with your anxiety.

You have clearly worked hard, with the support of Claire, which has resulted in tools to help manage the anxiety. With recovery, we know it’s a journey and we hope you continue using your experiences at therapy throughout it and seek that further support in the future if needed.

We have passed on your kind words to Claire.

We also hope others reading about your experience at Inclusion Thurrock will be encouraged to seek support if needed.

Best wishes,

Olivia
