"Safe, effective, compassionate person-centred care"

About: Trauma & orthopaedics / Orthopaedic National Treatment Centre

(as a relative),

My husband had his hip replaced at NHS Fife National Treatment Centre Kirkcaldy. From Admission to Discharge I witnessed safe, effective, compassionate person-centred care.  It was very evident that the Orthopaedic Unit works as a team in which every person -cleaners, nurses, physios, OTs, aneasthetists, pharmacists and surgeons - played their part. I have taught aspects of person-centred care for years (for NHS Education for Scotland) but what I witnessed last week modelled it in practice. Top marks and deep gratitude to you all.

Good morning virgokm48,

Thank you for taking the time to post such lovely feedback following your husband's recent stay with us in the National Treatment Centre.

As a Senior Charge Nurse, it is very reassuring to hear that the processes that we have in place from admission to discharge are working well, likewise the team work from all departments played a pivotal role in your husband (and yourself) having a positive experience.

I will ensure that your comments are shared with the wider team

Wishing him well in his continued recovery

Lorna and the NTC staff
