"Flu Vaccine"

About: Royal Victoria Hospital / Covid Vaccination Centre

I received a text telling me I was ellegible for the Flu Vaccine & to use a link that was provided to book an appointment. At first I thought this could be a scam as I had not received texts from this source before. It was from HSC Vaccine but I remembered the HSC App was used for Covid. I proceeded with caution & found everything legit.

The only Centres available for my postcode were Lagan Valley, Ulster Hospital & RVH. The process of booking a slot for the vaccine with the Ulster Hospital had faults in that there were lots of available slots but once I selected a time it told me it wasn't available anymore. I tried this over several days & several time slots but no joy. I then reverted to RVH & was able to book an appointment no problem, in fact got an appointment in 2 days time 👍.

I had to call the RVH to clarify where the Unit was as directions had not been provided, it just mentioned the Covid-19 Centre, Ground Floor, Redevelopment Office & I didn't know where this was. The process from there was straight forward, I turned up a little early & was seen to straight away. Everything went very smooth, the Nurses were clear with the information they provided me with & it was all over & done with in seconds, no tears 😄.

I would have liked to have had the Flu Vaccine earlier than January but I'm not in the age bracket or ill health condition. I did contact the flu early January 🤧 & still have a cough from it 4 weeks on. I last received the Flu Vaccine October 2022 so thought I just needed to be patient, & wait to be called.

I am delighted you had a positive experience at our centre in the Royal Hospital and that you have been able to receive your vaccine, if you are ever in doubt in the future give our centre a call and we will be happy to assist in anyway we can, we have taken into consideration regarding the directions to our centre and we are aiming to improve this thank you for making us aware of this.
