"Informative and helpful"

About: Fife Community Services / Rapid Cancer Diagnostic Service (RCDS) Queen Margaret Hospital / Radiology

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

Terrific, brilliant, fantastic are all words I would use to describe the service provided by the RCDS team.  I could not believe the speed of action from GP referral to getting results of my tests. I attended Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline for the tests and all the staff were caring and kind.  Mike from the RCDS ream guided me through the process and explained what would be happening during my hospital visit and it all went like clockwork.

Given the long waiting lists of most hospital procedures this service was outstanding.  My hospital appointment for a scan was on a Friday and on Monday Mike called me with the results.  You can imagine this speediness reduces any anxiety and I was impressed with the overall efficiency.

My results were clear.  I subsequently attended two lifestyle sessions which I found most informative and helpful. My experience was very positive and I can't think how it can be improved.

Dear rcdsal25

thank you for taking the time to share your experience of care. I’m pleased to hear about your person centred experience with the RCDS team. I understand that undergoing tests and waiting for results can be an anxious experience therefore you highlighting the speed of receiving results worked towards reducing your anxiety and thus contributing to a good patient experience is appreciated. It’s fantastic to know that Mike guided you seamlessly through the process, and the quick turnaround from your hospital visit to receiving results is the standard we always aim for.

I’m glad the lifestyle sessions were informative and helpful. I'm delighted your scans were clear and wish you continued good health

Warm Regards

Murdina
