"Waiting for results"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Radiology

(as a service user),

I had an abdominal MRI scan in September 2023 at Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline.  I was told I would get the results in 2 weeks and I am still waiting for these in January 2024.

I have contacted my doctors surgery, they have nothing.  I have contacted patient relations and they haven't responded.

Where are my results?  What a disgrace.

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear that you are still waiting to receive your results of your MRI scan performed in September and you are having to chase this up. You should have received your results directly from your referring clinician as we do not have any studies outstanding from September 2023. Please contact fife.mrileadsgroup@nhs.scot or via telephone on 01592 643355 ext 28331 to discuss. The radiology department do not issue results directly to patients but we can advise when the results were made available to your referring clinician so you can contact them directly.

Regards

Dear JcFife

My name is Siobhan McIlroy and I am the Head of Patient Experience. NHS Fife welcomes all feedback, so thank you for taking the time to post on Care Opinion. I am sorry for the delay in you receiving a response.

I am sorry and disappointed to hear that you have contacted the Patient Experience Team and not had a response to your concern. If you email me your details I can look into this for you. You can contact me at siobhan.mcilroy@nhs.scot and if your put "waiting for results" in the subheading that would be great. Not having your results must be causing you a lot of anxiety. I hope you hear from you soon.

Thank you again for sharing your story, best wishes and take care, Siobhan
