I attended an appointment with a consultant who then put a request through for an xray and directed me to the xray department. The waiting area was not manned and I waited for someone to attend to me. Other people came and went after their xrays , so when I eventually got fed up waiting and managed to speak to a member of staff to advise that I had been waiting for some time (and they said this was a common problem). They then advised that I had to book in ! Thats even when staff were passing regularly - to which they could of asked if we had booked in ( I was not told this information ) so I went downstairs to book in to where I was attended by an abrupt receptionist.
Overall I waited 1 hr for an xray to which I feel is unacceptable. A solution would be to have a wing banner or visual notice on the waiting area walls to advise patients to sign in.
