"Hospital Care Station 16 Ayr Hospital"

About: University Hospital Ayr / General Surgery

(as a service user),

I went in for total knee replacement surgery in late December 2023. Care after surgery was at station 16. I can honestly say that the cared for us like we were family. It didn’t matter how busy they were they made time. From all levels of nursing to the physio team I cannot fault the service. In particular there was a nursing assistant who was very knowledgeable I am gutted I can’t remember her name. She is tall slender and the most amazing care giver ever. I feel like the word assistant on her name badge degrades how good she actually was. I hope she is recognised for all she does.

Dear Fiestykatz

Thank you so much for your lovely feed back about Station 16 and in particular the Nursing Assistant you mention. It is so nice to hear from the patients who come into the ward that they recognise the hard work and commitment that our staff show everyday. Please be assured as the Clinical Nurse Manger for the service I am too very aware of how hard our nursing staff work and in Station 16 they are an amazing team. It is with pride I will pass on your feedback to all the staff. I hope you are continuing to make good progress and are managing to get the benefit of your new joint

Kind Regards

Hazel Hainey
