I saw Lucinda in occupational therapy. She is wonderful, patient, kind, clear, supportive but it was also helped by the fact that she had every time to devote to me.
An object lesson to those chasing efficiencies - time spent doing it well at the beginning saves time and gives better outcomes.
I was fitted with a knee brace, which is excellent, the consultant was reluctant to give me a knee replacement because of my heart but presented the brace as a sort of poor alternative, expecting a negative reaction from me, but I was willing to try it.
I wasn't sure what to expect but have been pleasantly surprised.
The brace is light, comfortable and far less cumbersome than I imagined it would be and doesn't show at all under loose-ish trousers and larger skirts. It gives me the support and confidence to walk around more and made me far less reliant on my stick, relieving the problems with my arm and back.
