I’ve been a frequent visitor to Monklands Hospital for about 10 years now due to ongoing issues with my kidneys. When I say these staff are the best, I really mean it. From the fantastic custodian staff, receptionists, to the porters, the auxiliary nurses and nurses, the surgeons, consultants, anaesthesiologists — they are all simply amazing.
I do need to give a special shoutout to Doug, who works with Miss Ramsay in the urology surgery team. My past 2 visits, I was taken to surgery and woke up in recovery with Doug, and simply: wow. Such a lovely guy, so genuine and so, so funny. I don’t even think he realises, but he makes the process so easy and actually enjoyable. And he’s so knowledgeable whilst doing all this, just such a lovely guy.
Also, Stacey/Stacy who works on the night shift in the day surgery unit, she always brightens my visits when she’s on shift. Will go out of her way just to make myself and other patients feel comfortable and at ease. Whenever she’s free (not often, she’s a busy woman much like the rest of her colleagues), she will gab to you like you’re just out for a coffee and it makes the world of a difference.
There’s no amount of words that I can pass along to thank the amazing staff at Monklands, they have always taken great care of me and they are a credit to the healthcare industry.
"They have always taken great care of me"
