"Attention to detail"

About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital (London)

I was unlucky in that I accidently spilt a jug of hot water

on my right knee. Through a call to 111, I was sent through to Emergency care where they dressed my wound. This seemed to

go well and I was seen again the next day. However there were some difficulties and I was put on anti-biotics. Before the date of the next dressing, I was unwell. After ringing my surgery I saw a nurse and a doctor there who felt the wound was looking rather angry.. and advised my returning to the hospital for an intravenous anti-biotic. I did this but had to go through A and E first which took some time to see the doctor (who unfortunately I am not able to name) because I felt he dealt with the situation very well. He was

very determined to get the right advice and got in touch with the

Burns Unit at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. He was able to put through a request for a referral which was quite complicated..

using a photograph of the wound on my daughter's phone. It was very busy in A and E and my daughter and I were very impressed by his professionalism. It was late when I had the anti-biotic drip but

everything was set up for my appointment with The burns Unit at Chelsea and W Hospital later day.

Many thanks to Queen Elizabeth Emergency Care staff for their help and care and especially to the A and E doctor. who on the night of Wednesday 10th January and early in the morning of Thursday 11th January sorted out my situation so well.
