Recently I have heard on the E. Midlands news the outcome of the passing of a patient, that was here at Rampton. In the coroners and CQC report it was found to be-neglect from staff and that Rampton Is inadequate due to staffing levels.
This has really made me angry because staff come to work and put our safety first beyond everything. Instead of focusing on what’s wrong why can’t people look at the positives in Rampton. To look at how many lives they have saved. They used to sit holding me from 6 months day and night and the difference they have made to me is remarkable.
The staff are brilliant and awesome. They have saved my life and my limbs so I would like staff at Rampton to know you are valued and that you do a superb job.
You can look at stats and statistics all day long, but when do patients get asked about our care by these people writing the reports.
Despite staffing levels, care is always priority. It shows dedication from staff when they come to work get punched, kicked, screamed at, yet they still come back and give 100% care.
So, to hear things on the news, like staff are “inadequate and neglectful” is a huge insult.
A lot of staff that care for us don’t just come because they get paid, they care because they genuinely care for us and are brilliant at their jobs, especially down at Women’s.
I would like to actual say Rampton has saved my life and a lot of others.
