"Brilliant care received in maternity"

About: Maternity / Emergency Obstetric Unit The Ulster Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

I have recently had a baby girl in the Ulster Hospital Dundonald, due to pregnancy complications we attended EOU on a regular basis. Julie (sister), (Dr) Nuala and every member of staff (too many to name) are absolute angels. They went above and beyond and no question was a stupid question they were great with reassurance. We attended EOU that much that the staff knew us by our names and they became like family to us.

We also attended fetal medicine on a regular basis. A big thank you to Dr Manderson and Roz who scanned us on a weekly basis until delivery at 36 weeks.

I spent 4 days in the maternity ward after giving birth, the staff on maternity ward are brilliant. Nothing was too much hassle and always on hand to help. They are a great team, especially when working in challenging times with staff shortages.

Thank you to everyone for the fantastic care and attention we received.

Dear December baby girl

My name is Conor Campbell. My position is Senior Manager, Assurance and Improvement with a leading role in improving the service user experience - which includes responding to any person who tells their story through Care Opinion in order to help the organisation learn and improve.

Congratulations on the birth of your baby daughter!

Thank you for sharing the story of your experience whilst in receipt of care at Ulster Hospital Maternity Services.

It is great to learn that you have been looked after so well by our excellent teams across Emergency Obstetric Unit, Fetal Medicine, Labour Ward and Maternity Ward.

In addition to high-quality clinical care, it is so important that care journeys are a warm and caring experience.

I have shared your positive feedback to the Maternity Services teams who greatly appreciate your kind words and to know that their contribution was so meaningful to you. Your feedback has been added to Maternity Services’ noticeboard in order that all can see your motivating words and know that their work is appreciated.

I wish only the best for you and your baby daughter going forward.

Best wishes

Conor
