I'm a 71 year old ex 22 year army veteran, currently suffering from PTSD and a few other ailments. I recently attended Wishaw Gen Hospital for my morning colonoscopy appointment.
From arrival to discharge, I found members of staff approaching and asking visitors if they required assistance. The Day Surgery unit reception staff were friendly, polite and helpful, answering any questions posed by outpatients or visitors.
The Endoscopy team in particular were excellent. The pre op cubicles were spotless, all empty beds prepared and laid out awaiting patients and when first entering they explained each items usage and offered to assist. Inside the colonoscopy unit, the staff demonstrated, empathy, knowledge, professionalism, also encouragement and praise to me personally and allayed my possible worries. The recovery area staff also made constant visual, verbal and vital sign checks on the wellbeing and condition of the patients. You should be proud of the professionalism, caring and knowledge demonstrated by all the team.
I am eternally grateful for the opportunity to thank them all.
"Superb/excellent staff"
