A few days ago about 1.30pm, after trying to access NHS 24 and being told there could be up to a 90 minute wait, I decided to go to Arbroath Infirmary, Angus, Scotland instead of phoning for an ambulance.
There were no patients waiting and the receptionist immediately told me that I would be seen. I was taken through, examined by caring and attentive staff.
Within 30 minutes I was examined, given a course of steroids, antibiotics and home aftercare advice. I had taken my asthma care plan with me and I was able to tell the staff nurse my peak flow. The staff nurse said no patient had done this before so maybe this would be useful for staff if all asthmatic patients did this.
I have been to Arbroath Infirmary a few times over the years and have always been seen by caring and attentive staff. Thank you Arbroath Infirmary.
