"Lack of service"

About: Whiston Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a friend),

We had to break in to our neighbour's house as we had no response from him and call an ambulance.

Once I was in I found him laying on the bed and delirious, unsure of his facilities and clutching his right arm. Once the ambulance took him we waited for them to contact us. We called them three hours later but no answer.

We visited the hospital that evening and found him on a bed in the corridor.

He had not been fed or given a drink all the time he had been there. His history of health is poor with 3 strokes, dementia and poor hearing and partially blind.

We have phoned the hospital and he is still waiting to get on to a ward.

His wife was recently admitted hospital. They have no family to take care of them. He does not know where his wife is due to the dementia.

What the hell is going on? Why do we pay NI all our lives to get this atrocious lack of service, when in our 80s we need the service we have paid for?

I signed off now totally disgusted.
