"The continuity of care was outstanding"

About: Maternity care / Antenatal and Postnatal (Ward 38) Maternity care / Community Midwifery Unit Maternity care / Labour Suite

(as a service user),

Throughout my pregnancy I was looked after by my wonderful community midwife Tracy! When the time came to have my baby, I attended the midwifery unit and I was so lucky that Tracy was on shift. Throughout my quick and extremely intense labour, Tracy was amazing. She managed to keep me calm and talked me through every step of the way! I’ll always be so thankful to her for supporting me to bring my beautiful boy safely into this world! Hannah was the second midwife and was equally as amazing. She stood back and gave me quiet words of encouragement.

For my postnatal visits again I was lucky to have Tracy for most of them and Hannah when Tracy wasn’t on shift.

For me, the continuity of care was outstanding and made me feel so at ease being able to build a relationship with Tracy antenatally then having her support me when I was at my most vulnerable throughout the birth.

I can’t thank enough all of the maternity areas, from triage, ward 38, labour suite and DMU/community for the outstanding care every single midwife/HCA/doctor provided me antenatally, intrapartum and postnatally. I will be forever grateful!
