I have recently spent a period of respite in Slieve Roe House Kilkeel following my wife's emergency hospital admission.
I have previously availed of respite in Slieve Roe House and have always had a very pleasant and enjoyable experience.
The 24/7 care provided is excellent, the staff are very good and very helpful.
The food is delicious, I have especially enjoyed the ice cream after meals and a few fig rolls with a cuppa tea.
I am very happy with the room I have been staying in, it is kept clean and tidy. My bed is very comfortable and I have a bell to press if I need any help overnight.
I have really enjoyed talking to other residents and to the staff.
Since my last stay here in Slieve Roe House there is a new fish tank, I absolutely love sitting watching it while chatting to other residents. I spent most of my days watching the fish and enjoyed watching the staff feeding the fish. This reminds me of home, my wife and I have a pond with goldfish outside and due to the cold weather and my mobility I haven't been able to go out and watch the fish.
Overall, I have really enjoyed my stay and cannot wait until my next stay!
"A very pleasant and enjoyable experience"
