I have been treated for cancer for the last 18 months at Treliske Hospital.
I had been treated previously at Hereford Hospital for cancer. After chemotherapy there, I was told that my treatment was finished and all was well.
We moved to Cornwall, and after feeling unwell, I had an endoscopy which showed that the cancer was back in a number of places.
I saw the consultant, Mr Tucker, who advised me that I needed more chemotherapy. After a couple of sessions of chemotherapy, they did a scan and found the cancer was more aggressive than originally thought. Mr Tucker said there were 2 options, either palliative care, or there was another chemotherapy treatment that they could try and I agreed to have this.
The treatment and care that I then received was exceptional. Mr Tucker was helpful and supportive throughout and always encouraging.
During my time of treatment I was helped by the Haematology Clinical Nurse Specialists, Loriana, Caz and John. During my treatment, I had problems which needed emergency hospitalization and also times when I had symptoms, which concerned me, and their care, advice and help was amazing; in fact all the staff on the haematology ward were excellent.
I am now in partial remission and I felt that I needed to say a big thank you to all who cared for me at this hospital.
"The care and support I received at hospital."
