While on the endocrinology ward I was seen by a doctor - after having been seen by a different doctor the day before who made me feel listened to, set a clear plan in place and reassured me about the tests I was having done.
The doctor that saw me didn’t even look at me as they spoke, told me that I can go home once my fasting blood test is done (72 hour fasting test to check insulin, glucose and c-peptides), which is being done to see if my cancer has returned to my pancreas.
The doctor stated that the hospital are obliged to keep me in as I’m fasting, and then asked why I hadn’t informed them of my hypoglycaemic attacks at our previous clinic appointment, the simple answer to that question is that you didn’t give me the chance to. You spoke down at me, made me feel like mud on the bottom of your shoe at that point, and continued to do so as an inpatient waiting to find results to see if my cancer has returned.
I feel upset to the point where I want to discharge myself and just continue until something else dreadful happens.
