"Superlatives all the way"

About: Post-Menopausal Bleeding Specialist Nurses

(as the patient),

My Monifieth GP told me that she was referring me for a hysteroscopy as an MRI had shown a lesion on the wall of my uterus. Very shortly I received an appointment at Sonya's Clinic for Post Menopausal Bleeding at PRI. I did wonder about this as I have never experienced post menopausal bleeding. I attended and it became apparent that a mistake had been made and that I would not be able to undergo a hysteroscopy that day.

I could not have received a warmer welcome or greater efforts to sort this out. My husband was called in and made comfortable. Sonya and nurse Ellie were able to give me a vaginal ultrasound scan and were so professional and friendly that this was not a bit stressful. Sonya then was able to get Sarah and her nurses Yvonne and Kirsteen to fit a hysteroscopy in for me although they were fully booked. While we waited for this,  Denise gave my husband and me tea and biscuits. Jane too was so nice and friendly. I didn’t have a moment to feel anxious as their company was so relaxing.

The hysteroscopy wasn’t too bad as Sarah was obviously an expert. Wendy chatted to me throughout and made the whole experience less painful. Dr McNicoll popped in and he too was very pleasant and friendly. An experience which I had dreaded ended up with me saying I’ve fair enjoyed myself this afternoon.

What an asset this department is to Tayside. I cannot praise them all highly enough. Superlatives all the way. Thank you, Women’s Health team at Perth Royal Infirmary.

Dear moirbroc

Thank you for the feedback you have shared following your experience of the One Stop PMB Service within Perth Royal Infirmary and for sharing that you fair enjoyed yourself after receiving a warm welcome!

Firstly please let me apologise that you ended up with an unnecessary appointment within the Post Menopausal Bleeding Clinic, I will link with the Waiting List Office and make them aware of this situation occurring in an attempt to avoid this for future patients. I was really pleased to hear that the team manged to resolve the situation and that you were able to have your hysteroscopy undertaken (which was the clinic you should have been booked for) within a fully booked clinic. The team endeavour to ensure every patients experience is the best possible experience always striving to provide high quality care, this appears to be an example of just that.

Please be assured that each staff member you mention within you feedback will have this shared with them to show the difference they made to your experience, an appointment which you had been dreading.

I do hope you are recovering well at home.

Best wishes.

Daisy
