Car Parking

My son had a appointment in the X-ray department. I arrived 30 minutes before my appointment and was dismayed to see the car park was very busy but was hopeful to find a space. It has been snowing and I don't know if that made people feel they had the right to just abandon their car. People were parked in the yellow box which meant cars couldn't fit through. Others had parked in the middle of the driving paths and this meant that cars were boxed in and couldn't get out. Drivers couldn't get down the road and were trying to reverse where there was no room. Others had parked so badly they were taking up 2 spaces. Overall it was a total shambles and I feel that Antrim Area Hospital should be ashamed for letting it get into that state.

I am very sorry to hear about your experience in getting parked at Antrim Area Hospital and thank you for taking the time to bring it to my attention. The Trust recognises that parking on the Antrim Hospital site can sometimes be challenging and unfortunately this has been exacerbated by the weather conditions we are currently experiencing. In recognition of this issue the Trust has invested in 271 new parking spaces which are currently being constructed and will be available for use from April 2024. We are confident that this will make a big difference and in the meantime we will continue to explore other areas for improvement in terms of traffic management and parking on site.
