My father-in-law was recently admitted, after a 2-hour wait in reception he was seen by the triage sister, who was very swift in her diagnosing that he should be admitted. He was then sent through to the Fit to Sit area. The Doctor diagnosed him with an infection and Sepsis.
The nurse, Paige-Savana, was most helpful and attentive, in what was a very busy department. The family would like to thank her for the care given during that time. She even looked in later when he had been moved to a single bay in A&E.
After approximately twenty hours he was moved to B2. Unfortunately, his treatment did not continue and he then went almost twenty four hours without the antibiotics he needed. The ward was extremely busy and noisy with pills spilt on the floor, which we handed in.
It wasn't until he was transferred to ward C6 did he receive the treatment to assist his recovery. The family are pleased with his overall care but the admissions through B2 was chaotic throughout his short stay there.
"Admitted to A&E"
