"My experience at OT services with autism team"

About: Children and Young People Services / Child and Adolescent Mental Services

(as a parent/guardian),

I was recently met by both my daughter's OT and support worker for ASD services at clinic. We spent over an hour in clinic having an OT assessment which was long overdue since her diagnosis.

The OT made me feel at ease and my daughter. She agreed to go out to school and meet with her teacher to see what supports she could offer there. This appointment has since took place and was a positive one.

This is the first time since her diagnosis that I have had intervention from ASD services which I haven't had to source or pay for myself. It's lovely to have a support worker that I can call on or speak to if I need to and that is so warm and friendly. I feel like I have been listened to for the first time since diagnosis.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback about your experience with Autism Services. I am delighted to hear that the Occupational Therapist (OT) has been able to support your daughter not only within the clinic setting, but in her educational placement by sharing advice with teaching staff. I am very pleased that you now feel supported and listened to by the OT and Autism Specialist Support Worker and you can access this in a seamless way.

I would be very grateful if you would contact me directly to discuss your journey with the service prior to this support commencing.

Autism Services, Monday - Friday, 09.00 - 17.00 on 02837 566 777.
