In recent years both my elderly parent's health declined significantly, resulting in my Mum unfortunately passing last week aged 88.
She was initially sent home from hospital in October 2022, became bed bound from January 2023 and required daily assistance from district nurses and local authority carers. The consistent, compassionate and very professional care provided to my Mum by the MacLean Medical District Nurses working out of Eastwood Health & Care Centre, East Renfrewshire was incredible and definitely deserving of recognition, particularly when in today's society, too many folks are only too eager and willing to criticise or be negative.
On a daily basis, district nurses would attend, always positive and upbeat plus would spend time explaining or providing updates, liaise with the local pharmacy and Doctors, whilst clearing seeking options that would benefit, reduce pain and ultimately make my Mum as comfortable as possible. It was clear they all cared !!! Taking pride in their work was refreshing to both observe and hear about from my Mum and I know she really appreciated all that was done for her.
A huge thank you to Mel, Helen, Allyson, Josie, Janeanne, Lorna, Jennifer and Fiona - you are all a genuine credit to yourselves, your profession and the area in which you provide such vital assistance.
