"Professionalism at its best"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Care of the Elderly

(as a relative),

My mum was admitted to Ward 5 at Queen Margaret Hospital in a poorly condition with delirium, thereafter diagnosed with dementia.

This was a shock to all my family and we had amazing support from the nursing staff.   Their professional medical knowledge and experience was so evident and they were always available to explain matters to us.  This was so reassuring. Importantly the nursing staff were always available to speak to in the ward or by phone or email.

The care shown to my mum by all the core ward staff was above and beyond.   She become very fond of them.

In a happy ending -  months later she was able to move to a care home.

Professionalism at its best.

Thank you for taking the time to give ward 5 this lovely feedback. The team are delighted that you felt supported as a family and were reassured by they care your mum was receiving. The team work hard to try and provide a high standard of care and support, not just for patients but also to their family and friends, and are happy that they have been able to help you all during a challenging time. I hope your mum has settled well into her new surrounding and that you can all enjoy your time together as a family in her new home.

Kind Regards

Kim
