"Advice and generally helpful staff"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Day Surgery Queen Margaret Hospital / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

I just wanted to say a little thank you to gynaecology secretaries, the patient experience team, and Sam in Day Surgery ward in QMH. I'm currently waiting on a surgery date and have been getting quite anxious in the run up to it. I'm also autistic and cope better when I have more details about situations. Therefore I've been asking quite a few questions to all of these various staff members. They have been extremely kind and helpful and have made me feel like less of a nuisance, to which I am extremely grateful for. They also have not made me feel stupid or ignorant despite some of the sillier questions I've asked. I just wanted to let them know that they are very much appreciated by this anxious autistic lass.

Especially so today when Sam saw me for my pre assessment appointment, it was really good to be able to talk to someone and get an idea of what will actually happen on the surgery day.

So if someone could pass my thanks onto Trish and Jane in Gynecology, Elizabeth in Patient Experience, and Sam in Day Surgery ward, I'd very much appreciate it :) :D

Dear BudgeyFudgey

Thank you for taking the time to share feedback around your communication with the Patient Experience Team, the secretarial staff and Sam in pre-assessment, I am glad to see the teams have been able to give you the opportunity to ask questions around your admission and hope this will give you a positive experience when you come for your surgery. I will pass on your kind words to Sam.

We wish you well on your day of surgery

Nola and the Day Surgery Team
