"Resus and Acute Coronary Care"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance University Hospital Ayr / Acute Medicine University Hospital Ayr / Cardiology

(as a service user),

One evening last week, I was admitted to University Hospital Ayr with an episode of sustained VT and was cardioverted both medically and with shock in Resus. The staff were, without exception; calm, reassuring, professional and most caring during what must have been an incredibly stressful time for them.

I was subsequently admitted to ACCU for 4 nights and again, experienced nothing but exceptional care and compassion.

I would like my comments to be passed to all concerned who were on duty at this time.

I have had several admissions to this hospital with my heart condition in the past 18 months and every time the care from the medical staff has been exceptional. I would like to extend this compliment to all paramedics and ambulance crews, cleaners, phlebotomists, admin staff and HCAs who have made a frightening time so much more bearable.

What a team, without whom I might not be here. God bless you all and thank you.
