My treatment and short stay at the Cardiac Short Stay Unit, Trent Cardiac Centre, City Hospital, Nottingham provided excellent and efficient service. From the Pre Operation assessment until my short stay visit all staff were professional, friendly and helpful throughout. I am not a fan of either Injections or indeed Hospitals, however from my arrival as CSSU I was put at ease. The staff were very attentive at all times and kept me informed throughout my short stay and procedure. I cannot single out any particular individual as all staff were all of the highest calibre both on the ward (Nursing and Administrative staff) and the surgical team during the surgical procedure. Good morale and team spirit was evident on the ward and this again helped to alleviate the mood and make it a little less clinical, albeit still keeping it professional. During my stay I witnessed two occasions whereby difficult situations needed to be dealt with one involving a cancelled operation and the other involving a particularly difficult self opinionated patient. It was re-assuring to form the outside how these situations were dealt with both with compassion, tact, diplomacy and indeed firmness. Hospital visits are never a good thing for anybody, however I can only praise the staff involved in my visit and the professionalism and care provided throughout. In the event I needed to be admitted to Nottingham City Hospital and based on my experience at CSSU, Trent Cardiac Centre I do not feel I would be as apprehensive based on my experiences to date. Please ensure that this complimentary response is communicated to the CSSU, Trent Cardiac Unit, Nottingham City Hospital. As I believe it is important that praise is given were praise is due.
