"Daughter born early"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Maternity care

(as a service user),

My daughter was born unexpectedly early in January 2023. It was stressful and unexpected but the care we received was exceptional.

The midwife, Nicola, who saw us in triage that night and stayed with me and held my hand was amazing and I am so grateful for her support. All of the staff were brilliant but I particularly remember the support from Nicola who spoke me through everything and let me squeeze her hand.
The care from the neonatal unit what amazing. They helped make a stressful situation feel a lot better and made sure we were looked after for the duration of my daughter’s stay.

Thank you saturnnr36 for taking the time to post such lovely feedback through Care Opinion.

I am delighted to hear that Nicola was such a great support to you during your care especially given that your daughter was born early. Congratulation and I hope you are both doing well.

Can I ask that you drop me an email on the address below with the date you attended? This will ensure I get the post to the correct Nicola as I am sure she will be delighted to receive such a lovely post.

Kindest Regards,

Laura Flynn

Saturnnr36 Congratulations to you on the birth of your daughter. Preterm delivery brings lots of stress and worry and I am glad to hear that your felt supported and guided though that difficult time.

Family integrated care integral to the service we provide in the neonatal units across GGC and it is great to hear that your felt not only involved but also cared for.

Thank you for taking the time to feed back. I will share your kind words with the staff in the neonatal unit at RAH.

Best wishes
