"My hospital treatment"

I am currently being treated for several cancers and have to attend hospital as a day patient for treatment.

I now attend Grantham hospital and although I have difficulty understanding the consultant (I came round from a procedure and could not understand anything the consultant was saying to me - problem with language barriers plus I was still feeling out of it), I wanted to give thanks and praise to the darling Nurse Queenie. She is so sweet and nice and made the treatment bearable.

I was so very nervous of the procedure and wasn't entirely comfortable with going through with it but she has such a calming influence and held my hand as it were throughout. She then took the time to explain to me what the consultant had said and what the suggested next treatments and operation are - some of those I don't want to happen and she took the time to listen to me, explain my choices and listen to what I actually want. She is amazing.

I return again in a few weeks and hope that she will be there to guide me again.
