My son was admitted to NSECH for a nasty leg fracture after trying to hurt himself.
The ambulance showed up promptly, and we received brilliant care at every stage. The paramedics were kind, calm and understanding of my son's Autism, they were able to reassure us and got us to hospital quickly and safely.
The A&E team were brilliant and efficiently treated him and made him comfortable in preparation for surgery the next morning.
Whilst on the children's ward all of the staff; domestics, HCAs and Nurses were kind and couldn't do enough for us, we were kept well informed of progress and next steps. He was seen by physios, Occupational therapists and the mental health team all before discharge with a plan in place for further care. Within an hour of arriving home the OT arrived with the home mobility aids he required.
I really can't thank the staff enough for the support given to not only my son but our family. They made a really tough time for us a little easier.
