"You have made me feel better"

About: Musgrove Park Hospital / Accident and emergency Musgrove Park Hospital / Paediatrics South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

We were admitted to the ward after my mum had to me an ambulance  - it was quite scary for us both  but the paramedics, the nurses and doctors were all so lovely.

I was having trouble with my breathing and this was making me very upset. The lovely doctor said I needed some extra help so they gave me some oxygen. I was in HDU for this and the nurses were so lovely. They let me mummy stay with me as well which helped me to feel more calm.

I stayed in the ward for 6 days and I feel much better now. I would like to thank everyone - the nurses and doctors, the facilities tea, the students and the lovely play lady with the boppers!

You have made me feel better and also looked after my mummy too so that she has been able to cope.

Thank you!

Hello!

My name is Dr Holly and I help reply to all the children, young people and families who kindly post their stories about their stay with us.

Thank you so much for your story and your kind thanks to everyone who looked after you on the ambulance, HDU and Acorn Ward. I am so pleased you feel better now!

It sounds like you were very poorly and it would have been a very worrisome and scary time for you and your Mummy. It makes me very happy to hear our team were able to look after you both so well during your stay with us. We always make sure parents are able to stay with you during your stay with us as we know how important it is to make you feel safe and calm.

I will share your fabulous story with all the doctors, nurses, students, paramedics and play lady specialist who looked after you and helped make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible- the boppers sound fun!

All the very best!

Dr Holly

Dear Angmk34

Thank you so much for providing us with feedback on the recent service you received from us, it is much appreciated! We are so glad to hear that both you and your mum were both well looked after by the ambulance crew who attended you, though we are sorry that you had to experience this at all.

For confidentiality, your patient information is redacted on this platform and so we cannot find the details of your incident, we would love to pass your message onto the Ambulance crew who attended you and so, if you would be willing to share some additional information, please could you email compliments@swast.nhs.uk with your name, date the ambulance arrived, address and thank you message, we will then ensure this is passed onto to the relevant crew.

Thank you again for taking the time to feedback and we do hope you're recovering well!

Kindest regards,

Sami
