"A bright light in my dark days"

About: St John's Hospital / Mental health

(as a service user),

I was experience severe mental health problems and was in a mental health crisis. The lowest my life has ever been. The staff at Ward 17 St John’s, saved my life! The support and care was second to none and I can honestly say I wouldn’t be standing here today without them! The nurses and the Nursing Assistants are angels! The young male nursing assistant ( sorry I can’t remember your name) your humble attitude and humour was a bright light in my dark days. Thank you so much to all of you

Dear Leokz83,

Thank you so much for taking the time to bravely share you story. It can be really challenging to experience severe mental health difficulties and be in crisis, but it was so lovely to read about how staff in ward 17 were so valuable in helping your recovery. I am so encourage to hear that through this your mental health has improved and light has returned to what felt a very dark situation.

I will ensure your story is passed on to the staff in ward 17 as I am sure they will be so encouraged by it.

I wish you all the best in your ongoing recovery,

Kind regards,

Mariska
