"State of ward"

About: Scunthorpe General Hospital / Rehabilitation

(as a relative),

My mum was recently on the stroke unit at Scunthorpe and while her care was very good, and she made a good recovery, the appalling state of the ward was shocking! Broken cracked floors with tape stuck to them, curtains hanging off windows, grubby walls, chipped tables and lockers. Not a cheery, nice environment to recover in for patients. It's a stark contrast to the shiny new A&E. It's not a good advert for Scunthorpe hospital

Good Afternoon,

Thank-you for taking the time to post about your family member's experience. We are pleased to hear the care provided to her was of a very good standard and delighted to hear she is making a good recovery.

With regards to the Stroke Unit environment, I am sorry that the area your mum was cared for unsatisfactory. This has previously been highlighted to our Estates Team and I shall share your feedback with the Medicine Divisions Senior Nurse Team also, this will enable them to investigate the matter further.

If you need to provide us with further details or information please call 03033 306518 or email: nlg-tr.PALS@nhs.net and we will do all we can to help.

Kind regards

Simon Treacher
