Had my little boy in October 2023 & just reflecting back on the whole experience I feel like my midwife deserves some recognition.
From the minute I found out I was pregnant I was dreading labour & the thought of a hospital stay, but as soon as I got moved to the Labour ward & met my midwife I felt so at ease.
Leanne made sure I was fully aware of every procedure & advocated for me throughout the full time I was in her care, regardless of what other people suggested, as she knew I was nervous.
During my time in the hospital prior to being moved to the Labour ward I came across lots of midwives, some lovely but some awful who just didn’t seem to have the same care & compassion as others, which made me even more nervous for when the time came.
As soon as I met leanne I felt so relieved knowing I had someone as lovely as her to help deliver my baby & make it a positive, happy experience to look back on.
I never ever thought I would be able to say I had a amazing Labour & that I would do it all again, as I was terrified at the thought of the full process, but I find myself telling everyone who asks that I literally couldn’t have had a better Labour, which I think genuinely comes down to Leanne & the care she provided to not only me but my boy & partner!
It’s really lovely to know if I ever had another baby I wouldn’t have half as much anxiety as I did for my labour knowing that there is midwife’s like Leanne working in my local maternity, I don’t think we will ever forget her & we can’t thank her enough 🤍
I’m hoping this can be passed on to Leanne at wishaw as I never got the chance to thank her personally.
