"I left with more questions than answers"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Urology

(as a service user),

Had a procedure done here recently. Wasn't exactly a success as required admission to GRI afterwards.

Went to another appointment at Forth Valley  and was not impressed at all. By the end of the consultation I actually feel like I left with more questions than answers.

There has been a complete breakdown in trust and I have booked a flight to go overseas for a second opinion and hopefully some sort of corrective procedure.

A combination of anger and an impression of disinterest especially after my most recent consultation has prompted this action.

Dear Park725

I am sorry that you feel that there has been a breakdown in trust and that you have been left with an impression of disinterest after your most recent consultation, that was certainly not our intention. Our intention is always to treat patients with compassion and care and I am disappointed that you have found this not to be the case.

I will make contact with you directly today to discuss this further.

Regards

Update posted by Park725 (a service user)

Thank you for calling this afternoon. Unfortunately no progress was made. I continue to have a very negative opinion. A simple procedure continues to cause pain despite being told 6 weeks recovery. To give me an appointment for the end of February to allow healing is not acceptable. A urologist popping in for 2 minutes at last appointment does not in my view constitute a second opinion.

It is shocking that have to travel to a different country in order to be seen.
